If you have recently undergone breast enhancement surgery or if you already have your appointment scheduled with Dr. Matthew J. Trovato, it’s important to know what you can expect during recovery and what things you are going to have to do. As one of the best ways to help you heal better and faster, massaging your breasts after surgery will give you the healing results that you want and need.
After your surgery, your body’s natural response to your implants will be to start to create a massive amount of scar tissue in order to protect your body from your implants spreading throughout. However, scar tissue can make your healing process take longer and your breast implants not look quite as natural. Through using the correct massage technique, you will be able to break up the scar tissue and get the best looking results possible. Read on to learn more about the art of massage.
In order to get the best results from massage, it’s important to know exactly how to massage your breasts and where. When starting out, make sure that your hands aren’t too cold because this could be uncomfortable.
Step 1: Take two hands to one breast and place one hand on top of the nipple and one hand below the nipple. Start to massage the breasts and pull the implant away from your actual tissue.
Step 2: Apply a bit of pressure during the massage process when trying to pull the implant apart from the tissue. Remember that you won’t pop your implant by applying an ample amount of pressure.
Step 3: Massage continuously for about 5-10 minutes a few times a day, every day for about two weeks following your surgery.
