What methods of buttocks augmentation are available?
There are two methods used by Dr. Matthew J. Trovato to achieve a more attractive buttocks, including fat transfers and buttock implants.
• Fat transfers – for fat transfers, patients can have fat removed from one area of their body and transfer it to the buttocks for a rounder, more voluminous rear. There is no risk of allergic reaction, as the fat cells are harvested from the patient themselves. This method provides a natural look that will last longer, and eliminates the need for actual implants. The fat transfer method, sometimes referred to as a “Brazilian butt lift,” is the easiest and least invasive solution for buttocks augmentation.
• Buttock implants -for patients who do not have excess fat elsewhere on the body, such as patients with a thin frame or body builders, the buttock implant can be used. This silicone implant is similar to a breast implant but it placed into the buttocks to add volume and improve the shape. It is important that patients understand that the implants can shift over time, and future surgeries may be needed to maintain the desired look. Implants are safe, though do require a more invasive procedure to place.
