Discover Dr. Matthew Trovato’s approach to creating age-defying lips with a Lip Lift
Your lips are integral to your facial expressions, such as smiling, frowning, showing disgust and pleasure, and so on, which is why so many men and women want to enhance their lips. Unfortunately, as you age, areas around your mouth are prone to visible signs of aging. Dallas lip lift specialist, Matthew J. Trovato, MD, offers patients personalized approaches for their procedure.
A lip lift is a very straightforward procedure where the distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose is shortened by removing excessive skin just below the nose
The incision is favorably placed in the natural creases around the nose so they can be optimally concealed. By shortening the area between the nose and the top lip, more of the red area (vermillion) is exposed, making your lips look fuller and younger-looking. In addition, a lip lift will roll the line between your lip skin and vermillion or known as the vermillion border. This helps provide more definition to the Cupid’s bow and helps to reveal more of your upper teeth (tooth show).
An outpatient procedure
Most of lip lift candidates are patients whose upper lip has fallen victim to gravity; over time, the lip will fall farther away from the base of their nose, which causes the upper teeth to be mostly covered at rest, which is subconsciously a trait that connotes age. Dallas plastic surgeon, Dr. Trovato will create a unique outpatient procedure for your features and give you the results you desire.
The lip lift is an incredibly tolerable procedure
If your lip lift is performed as a solo procedure, it can be completed within an hour. During your surgery for lip lift Dallas plastic surgeon, Dr. Trovato begins by outlining where he plans to cut and remove the skin. The more skin removed, the greater your lift. Once the area is numb, Dr. Trovato will anchor the remaining skin to the base of your nose, which suspends your top lip into a lifted appearance.
the post-procedural care is extremely low maintenance
There will be dissolvable sutures placed that will reabsorb within about two weeks, and the post-procedural care is extremely low maintenance. If done under local anesthesia, the only restriction placed on the patient is to pull back on exercise for approximately one week.
After your lip lift, the incision line will heal over a more extended period, but the scar will begin to fade after two weeks. It is imperative to keep the incision area clean, and you are provided an antibiotic cream that needs application twice a day for one week. There is absolutely no smoking during your healing time, and it is recommended you quit altogether. You will also need to avoid excessive chewing for the next two weeks, as well.
With a lip lift you will see immediate results, but the final results are noticeable after two weeks when the swelling has subsided. It may take up to three months for the incision to heal and diminish. However, your results will last more than ten years because the lip lift is a remarkably reliable and long-lasting procedure.

Almost zero postoperative pain. Most patients receive a prescription for light pain medication.
The lip lift is an excellent procedure because it makes a notable but subtle difference while being nearly pain-free with limited downtime.
Commonly, patients combine the lip lift with other facial procedures. However, many times, it will be done with neck and facelifts for ultimate facial rejuvenation. Also, it is frequently done alongside other procedures, such as eyelid lifts, brow lifts, and lasers.
The lip lift will not change the ability to smile; however, it should improve the smile as it allows for more show of the upper teeth.
Absolutely, yes! Subconsciously, when others are trying to determine a person’s age by their appearance, they look at the area around the mouth, and if someone has a more extended upper lip and reduced teeth show, it is assumed that the person is of more advanced age. Not to mention, if you look at nearly any supermodel, they have extremely short upper lips. It is generally an aesthetically pleasing attribute.
